DeWys Celebrates First Welding Program Graduates

Education has always been an integral part of DeWys Manufacturing’s purpose, which is why they created DeWys University in 2012. Building upon the university model, DeWys worked with GRCC to connect college credit for graduating team members. This week, we had 7 team members completed GRCC’s brand new Gas Metal Arc Welding course – MN202.

Not only does this program provide valuable knowledge to strengthen the DeWys team, but it also allows team members an opportunity to earn college credit alongside their position at DeWys.

“Learning is lifelong, and DeWys has the ability to help others grow into their passions due to our professionally ran, yet family-owned organization. Through DeWys University, we bring hands-on training to team members who want to learn a new skill and gain a head start in manufacturing.” – Laura Preuss, Director of Workforce Development.

Our first class of course graduates includes VBU1 members Alex, Rob, Austyn, Milton, and Weston, as well as VBU2 graduates Nathen and Arturo.
